Jabal Akhdar / Jabal Shams
The highest mountain chain in Oman is called the green mountain due to the unique micro climate and vegetation. Old villages, still occupied by villagers and herders converted this mountain into a rural landscape with terraced mountain slopes.
From Al-Hamra you can access the highest peak in Oman and the Gulf reaching more than 3000 meters. It is known for its impressive abyss and usually described by visitors as the Arabian Grand Canyon.
Misfat Ibryiine / Al Hamra District
A Rural village still conserving its local characteristics. This mountain oasis houses an operational ancient aqueduct locally called Al- Falaj. The Fallaj Water system is a deep-rooted aspect of the Omani daily livelihood.
Nizwa old town
The historical capital for Oman, meeting point of main old trade routes, Nizwa is located in the heartland of Oman surrounded by high mountains and valleys. This old fortified town is best known for its fort, the biggest in Oman, and its old traditional Souks.

Bahla: World Heritage Site
Notified by UNESCO in 1988 as a world heritage site, this fort is one of the few reminiscent (evocative) of built heritage in Oman. This remarkable site witnessed more than 1000 years of history. It was first built in the 9th century and continuously used until the 19th century. It is built on a tumulus overlooking the old town of Bahla.
